Timothy N. Schofield

Tim Schofield is the founding partner of Schofield Donnelly, LLC and is widely recognized in Massachusetts for his work in condominium law, real estate litigation, landlord-tenant matters, and complex property disputes.

Tim has a reputation for candid advice, vigorous advocacy, and sophisticated and practical problem-solving in complex real estate matters.

Tim has been named a “Top 100 Massachusetts Super Lawyer” and repeatedly recognized by Super Lawyers for professional achievement and peer recognition.

Tim specializes in all types of disputes concerning real estate. He has tried cases in Massachusetts Superior Court, Land Court, and Housing Court, and has successfully argued cases before the Massachusetts Appeals Court.

Tim represents clients in boundary disputes, zoning appeals, claims of adverse possession, title disputes, petitions to partition, claims arising from purchase and sale agreements, and land use and construction disputes.

Tim also has extensive experience helping developers, property managers, trustees, and condominium associations in all aspects of forming, operating, and managing residential and commercial condominiums. Over the past 20 years, Tim and his firm have represented thousands of condominiums.

Tim served as Co-Chair of the Condominium Section of the Massachusetts Real Estate Bar Association.

Tim graduated magna cum laude from Boston College Law School in 1999 and magna cum laude from the University of New Hampshire in 1993. He is a veteran of the United States Army and served in Saudi Arabia during the Persian Gulf War. From 1993-1995, he worked on Capitol Hill as an aide to Congressman Richard Swett (D-NH). Tim has taught Legal Writing at Boston University Law School and Introduction to Lawyering and Professional Responsibility at Boston College Law School.

Prior to forming his own law firm in 2004, Tim was a trial lawyer with the Boston law firms of Goulston & Storrs and Sally & Fitch. He is also an active community leader and has served on the Board of Massachusetts Asian Pacific Islanders for Health, Presentation School Foundation, and the Advisory Board of the YMCA.

Tim is admitted to practice law in Massachusetts and New Hampshire.
